What happened to the direct-buy tankless water heater option?
Thank you for your interest in the SoCalGas Marketplace direct-buy program for high-efficiency tankless gas water heaters! This pilot program — which offered customers the convenience of purchasing a standalone tankless water heater without installation but with an instant rebate applied at checkout — was met with tremendous enthusiasm, and we truly appreciate your support.
Due to the overwhelming response, we have temporarily suspended the direct-buy option while we optimize the program to better serve you. We are working to reintroduce the offer and will make an announcement as soon as it becomes available again.
When will the program be back?
We are actively working to bring the direct-buy option back and anticipate relaunching toward the end of 2026 or early 2027. We'll share updates here on the SoCalGas Marketplace as soon as we have a confirmed timeline.
I already placed an order. Will it still be fulfilled?
Yes. If you have already completed a purchase through the program, rest assured that your order will be fulfilled as expected. No action is needed on your part.
Can I still get a rebate on a tankless water heater?
Absolutely! While the direct-buy instant rebate option is temporarily paused, you still have two ways to save:
- Install+ through the SoCalGas Marketplace: Choose a bundled installation package on the Marketplace and your rebate will be instantly applied at checkout — just like the direct-buy program.
- Post-purchase rebate through SoCalGas: If you prefer to purchase a qualifying tankless water heater on your own, you can submit for your rebate directly through SoCalGas after your purchase.
